The name "Melaleuca parvifolia Otto" recorded by A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 1965 (1991) appears to be an error. Otto validly published the name Melaleuca parviflora, and the variant "parvifolia" does not appear in the protologue (Horae Physicae Berol. 37 (1820)). Chapman (loc. cit.) also records "Melaleuca parviflora Link", as a misspelling of Otto’s name, but this is in fact a secondary reference only.
