Possible hybrids between A. aspera and ?A. montana are known from the Whipstick, Vic (Willis, 1957; Court in Willis, 1973; Maslin, 2001). Hybrids between A. verniciflua and A. aspera in Vic were discussed by Puccinin et al., Muelleria 19: 9-17 (2004).
