A reputed hybrid E. crebra x E. melliodora is the basis for E. peacockeana Maiden (Pryor & Johnson, 1971; Chippendale, 1988). A reputed hybrid E. albens x E. melliodora is the basis for E. robsonae Blakely & McKie (Pryor & Johnson, 1971; Chippendale, 1988). A reputed hybrid E. melliodora x E. sideroxylon is the basis of E. stopfordii Maiden (Maiden, 1922; Chippendale, 1988). A reputed hybrid E. crebra x E. melliodora is the basis for E. tenandrensis Maiden (Pryor & Johnson, 1971; Chippendale, 1988).
