Description

Erect or spreading tree or shrub 3–8 m high; bark smooth or finely fissured, dark brown to greyish; branchlets angled or terete, glabrous. source: Plant NET Flora Online

Golden wattle is Australia's national floral emblem. It was unofficially recognised as the emblem before being officially proclaimed on 1 September 1988. It is a a shrub or small tree 5-8 metres high. Like most members of the genus, the mature plant does not have true leaves but has leaf-like flattened stems called phyllodes. ... source: Australian Native Plants Society (Australia)

The species grows to between 2 and 8 metres in height with generally smooth, dark brown to grey bark. The mature trees do not have true leaves but have long, sickle -shaped phyllodes . These are shiny and dark green and are between 8 and 20 cm long and 0.5 to 3.5 cm wide. The rounded inflorescences are bright yellow and occur in axillary racemes or terminal panicles in groupings of between 4 and 23. ... source: Wikipedia
